<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaner mountable in an engine room without requiring a large space, and capable of connecting and separating both case members of a case by a simple operation. <P>SOLUTION: A cylindrical filter element 19 is contained in the cylindrical case 11 and gaskets 20 are provided between both end faces of the filter element 19 and the inner end face of the case 11. The air cleaner is constructed so that air from an outer peripheral side of the filter element 19 is filtered by the filter element 19 and is sent out in the axial direction from a central side of the filter element 19. The case 11 is divided into the first case member 12 and the second case member 13 in a plane intersecting with the axis of the filter element 19. Between the first case member 12 and the second case member 13, a connection mechanism 21 is provided for connecting and separating the case members 12, 13 by relatively turning them around the axis of the filter element 19. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
