<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized and low-cost current detector which is less affected by ambient environment conditions and is capable of detecting a micro current in a wide range. <P>SOLUTION: The current detector includes: an excitation coil 3 and a detection coil 5 wound around a magnetic core 2 surrounding a conductor 1 where a current to be measured flows, so as to be electrically insulated but magnetically coupled; excitation means 4 for supplying a magnetizing current to the excitation coil, whereby a rectangular wave voltage is applied which brings the magnetic core into a saturated state or a state approximating the saturated state; and current detection means 6 for detecting the magnetizing current flowing in the excitation coil 3 supplied by the excitation means 4 using the detection coil 5 and for detecting the current to be measured on the basis of timing of an abrupt change in magnitude of the magnetizing current detected by the detection coil. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
