<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector for a printed wiring board that secures mechanical fixation even when made compact. <P>SOLUTION: A connector for printed wiring board 1 has a contact 21 housed in a connector housing 2 where an opposite-side connector is fitted and connected in a vertical direction. The contact 21 has a contact portion 22 and a support plate portion 23 molded in parallel integrally with a base portion 24, and also has a pair of lead portions 26 formed at both end parts of the base portion. The connector housing has two contact housing portions 5 in which two contacts are housed in parallel, and each of the contact portions has openings 8 and 9 in a bottom of the connector housing, and is provided with a void space 6 into which a contact portion of a contact is inserted and an insertion hole 7 in which the support plate portion is pressed, the void space 6 being upward open 10 on a top surface of the connector housing.
