<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for detecting an operation amount including a load restriction mechanism for demonstrating a load restriction function with a simplified structure. <P>SOLUTION: A unit 20 for detecting the operation amount includes an elastic member 21. Each end of the elastic member 21 is connected to a brake pedal 11 through support levers 22, 23 and support shaft bodies 28, 29, and an intermediate part connects a connection lever 26, and the brake pedal 11 and an operation rod 15 to be connected with a relatively movable connection shaft body 18 for the brake pedal 11. In addition, the unit 20 for detecting the operation amount includes the load restriction mechanism 30 comprising a spring member 31 for elastically relatively movably supporting the support shaft bodies 28, 29 and a fixed member 32 for unmovably supporting the spring member 31.
