The disclosed image capture device is provided with a plurality of microlenses disposed in a two-dimensional manner in a vicinity of a focal plane of imaging optics; an imaging element such that an element group which includes a plurality of photoelectric conversion elements which receive via the microlenses a beam bundle from a subject which has passed through the imaging optics to output an image signal is disposed in a two-dimensional manner to correspond with each of the microlenses; and a synthesis unit for synthesizing an image signal which has been output from the plurality of photoelectric conversion elements on the basis of information identifying positions of the photoelectric conversion elements which output the image signal which is used in generation of synthesized image data for each imaging area in order to generate the synthesized image data corresponding to a plurality of the imaging areas in an arbitrary imaging surface of the imaging optics. |
