<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emergency illumination device that makes a person who is away from the emergency illumination device visually aware of abnormality of a secondary battery in such a case. <P>SOLUTION: A lighting portion 11 comprises LEDs 1 which are semiconductor light emitting elements. A control portion 7 includes a voltage detection portion 6 which detects the voltage across the secondary battery 2, and a determination portion 8 which determines whether the secondary battery 2 is abnormal based upon the voltage across the secondary battery 2 detected by the voltage detection portion 6 while a lighting circuit portion 4 turns on the lighting portion 11 forcibly by electric power supply from the secondary battery 2 when inspection start means 5 instructs inspection of the secondary battery 2. The control portion 7 makes a charging current from a charging circuit portion 3 to the secondary battery 2 smaller than that when the secondary battery 2 is normal or stops supplying the charging current from the charging circuit portion 3 to the secondary battery 2 when the determination portion 8 determines that the secondary battery 2 is abnormal so as to make the lighting circuit portion 4 blink the lighting portion 11 through electric power supply from a commercial power source AC, thereby indicating the abnormality of the secondary battery 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
