<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine a recording method to suppress image quality deterioration of an image. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a first recording method in which regular processing and end processing are performed on the basis of the position of a defective nozzle in a nozzle train, the regular processing for recording the image at a center part in a predetermined direction of a medium, and the end processing for recording the image at the end of the medium, the end processing in which a relative moving amount in the predetermined direction of the medium to the nozzle train is smaller than a relative moving amount in the regular processing. There is also provided a second recording method in which intermediate processing is performed between the regular processing and the end processing, the intermediate processing in which a relative moving amount is equal to or above the relative moving amount in the end processing, and is equal to or below the relative moving amount in the regular processing.
