<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce registration deviation caused by heat reception by an assembly constituting a reflective liquid crystal element. <P>SOLUTION: An optical device is provided, including a reflective polarizing element 12b and an optical modulation unit fixed by a fixing plate 220b to a color synthesis prism 15, as corresponding to one incident face of the prism. The optical modulation unit holds an optical compensation element and a reflective optical modulation element. The optical modulation unit further includes a light-shielding plate 110 that blocks incident light and regulates irradiation light toward the optical compensation element and the reflective optical modulation element to the transmitted light through an aperture, and a heat insulation material 240. The optical modulation unit is fixed to the fixing plate 220b by bringing the heat insulation material 240 into contact with the light-shielding plate 110 and a prism side bracket 230. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
