<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for industrially advantageously producing a poly(alkyleneglycol) monofatty acid ester ether from an unsaturated fatty acid ester and a poly(alkyleneglycol) with less side reaction at high conversion ratio and high selectivity to solve such problems that a naturally-occurring long-chain hydroxy acid is limited in type and volume and is hard to industrially use as surfactants, and also since in the reaction for generating ethers by dehydration from hydroxyl groups of hydroxy acid and alcohol, another ether is generated by reaction of raw material alcohols at the same time, the yield of the objective product is suppressed, and besides it is difficult to separate the product from unreacted materials or by-product ether. <P>SOLUTION: The method includes reacting unsaturated fatty acid esters having 8-30C fatty acid residues with poly(alkyleneglycol) in the presence of a solid acid as a catalyst. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
