<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable reliable checking of whether a ceiling fan body is properly suspended from the ceiling, regarding a ceiling fan suspended from the ceiling. <P>SOLUTION: The ceiling fan includes: a suspending section 2 affixed to the ceiling; and the ceiling fan body 3 suspended by the suspending section 2. The ceiling fan body 3 has: a motor for rotating a plurality of blades 4 which are provided in a horizontal direction; a shaft 5 protruded from an upper part of the motor; and a joint section 6 affixed to the upper part of the shaft 5. The joint section 6 can be removably attached to the suspending section 2, and a suspension detecting section 7 is provided in the joint section 6 and the suspending section 2.
