<p>The invention relates to a method and an installation that use liquid CO2 as a cryogenic fluid for transferring cold energy to products, the method being of the so-called indirect injection type in which the liquid CO2 is sent into a heat exchanger system where it evaporates, the transfer of cold to the products passing through an exchange between the environment surrounding the products and the cold walls of the heat exchanger, characterized in that the exchanger system is made up of two exchangers mounted in series, the first exchanger being kept at a pressure higher than the triple point pressure for CO2, whereas the second exchanger is for its part held at atmospheric pressure or at a pressure between the triple point of the fluid and atmospheric pressure.</p> |
