Disclosed is a twin clutch type transmission for a high horsepower vehicle, said twin clutch type transmission being compact and having high transmission efficiency. The twin clutch type transmission is provided with an input shaft, an odd-numbered stage gear change mechanism (30), an even-numbered stage gear change mechanism (60), a synchronization gear change mechanism (100), and an output mechanism (90). The gear change mechanisms (30, 60) are provided with transmission gear trains (32, 62), and main clutches (34, 64) which selectively transmit the power of these gear trains (32, 62) to transmission shafts (40, 70). The synchronization gear change mechanism (100) is provided with synchronization gear trains (110, 120) and synchronization clutches (112, 122), said synchronization gear trains (110, 120) serving to combine together the rotation of an odd-numbered stage transmission gear train (32) and that of an even -numbered stage transmission gear train (62), and said synchronization clutches (112, 122) serving to select combinations made by these synchronization gear trains.
