BACKLIGHT UNIT

PURPOSE: A backlight unit is provided to efficiently implement a local dimming by using an LED arranged on the side of a light guide plate. CONSTITUTION: A light source module includes a substrate(220) with a circuit wiring and LED blocks with LEDs(210). The LED faces the side of a light guide plate(100). A bottom chassis(300) includes a base(310) and a sidewall extended from the frame to the upper side of the base. The bottom chassis receives the light source module and the light guide plate. A driving unit controls brightness according to the LED block by controlling a current signal inputted to the LED blocks.
