PURPOSE: A hair dryer using an infrared ray heater is provided to rapidly supply hot air by enlarging an air contact area. CONSTITUTION: A hair dryer using an infrared ray heater comprises: a plate heater(100) which is heated by using applied power source; a blower fan(200) which blows the warm air generated from the plate heater; and a controller which controls the operation state of the blower fan and plate heater. The plate heater includes: a stainless substrate in which an insulating layer is formed in the bottom thereof; a first protective layer which is located on the top of the stainless substrate; a plurality of hotwires which are parallely wired; a power supply line supplying power to the hotwire; and a second protective layer which covers the hotwire and power supply line.
