<p>Shaft furnace (1) for heat treatment of a material of larger length comprises: a furnace wall (3); a furnace chamber (7) surrounding the furnace wall; and burners (11) for firing the furnace chamber, where the furnace wall exhibits a lateral opening to the furnace chamber, and the furnace is charged with the material through the lateral opening. The lateral opening is closed by a door (31), where the door is arranged on a movable framework, and is completely removable from the lateral opening. An independent claim is also included for heat treatment of at least one material of larger length in the shaft furnace, comprising introducing the material of larger length into the furnace chamber through the lateral opening, and holding the material in the furnace chamber, closing the lateral opening by the door, firing the furnace chamber by the burner for the heat treatment of the material, detaching the door from the lateral opening, and conducting out the material from the furnace chamber through the lateral opening.</p> |
