PURPOSE: A system for operating a platform screen door using RFID and a control method thereof are provided to enhance the reliability of a wireless communication system by preventing the interference of frequency by receiving the vehicle information of electric locomotive entering platform and newly allocating frequency channels to the electric locomotive and platform. CONSTITUTION: A system for operating a platform screen door using RFID comprises an RFID device(20), a general control panel(50), a first control unit(30), and a second control unit(40). The RFID device recognizes an RF tag(10) attached to a vehicle entering platform and reads vehicle information stored in the RF tag. The general control panel receives vehicle information from the RFID device, allocates frequency channels depending on the platform and vehicle information, controls a platform screen door(60) by data communication with the vehicle, and determines whether to start the vehicle depending on the state of the platform screen door.
