发明名称 Improvements in and relating to nails
摘要
544,862. Nails; floors. SAVILLE, P. J. Jan. 29, 1941, No. 1182. [Class 89 (ii)] [Also in Group X] Nails for securing the blocks of parquet flooring have shanks of circular cross-section and heads that only partially surround the shank so that after the shank 2 has been driven close to the side of a block with the head below the top surface the head can be driven sideways, turning the nail about the axis of the shank to engage the head 4 partly into the side of the block 8. Another block 9 is then driven laterally so that the remainder of the head is embedded in it. To prevent the head from being driven too far into one block means such as a rib 12, Fig. 7, or web 14, Fig. 8, may be provided. The head may take other shapes, for example triangular with the base adjacent the shank, or tee. For blocks when the grain is perpendicular to the floor surface the tee head may be bent down parallel to the shank at the end of a short offset portion thereof. The proportions must be such that the edge of the head is not far from perpendicular to the block when entry commences. Fig. 3 shows the arrangement of blocks and nails to .form a floor.
