The mandrel has a model surface for producing cast molds, and a spring support inserted into a casting model. A spring is inserted into the spring support. The spring with a fixed end is supported at the spring support, and a base (11) is supported on free ends of the spring. The base is sectionally accommodated in the spring support and is displaced in the spring support. A support mandrel (12) is arranged on the base for supporting a feeder (22). A guide (14) is provided at the base and guides displacement of the base in the spring support. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a casting mold for a cast metal.
