The system (100) has an electrical primary drive (10) i.e. electric motor operated with mains voltage, for retracting and extending curtains that include lamellas (1) and lift tapes (2). An electrical secondary drive (20) provides accelerated retraction of the curtains. An end switch (12) is attached to the primary drive to switch off the primary drive while reaching a retracted end position of the curtains. The switch is attached to the secondary drive such that the secondary drive is switched off during the accelerated retraction of the curtains while reaching the retracted end position.
