This invention relates to a transfusion control tap (10), and in particular to a tap used in the transfusion supply line for a baby or small child. The transfusion control tap (10) has three flow lines (14, 16, 20) and a rotatable control member (26), the rotatable control member having lumens (30, 32) which can be aligned with respective flow lines to interconnect those flow lines. According to the invention the control member has only two lumens whereby only two of the flow lines can be interconnected at a time, and importantly in which a chosen two of the flow lines cannot be interconnected. The invention therefore avoids the possibility that a blood supply bag can be inadvertently connected directly to the patient.
