Foodstuffs which are processed by a plate in a food processor and dropped into the bowl, tend to collect and pile up in specific areas of the bowl usually directly underneath a feed tube through which foodstuffs are introduced into a processor. The resulting, highly localised build-up of foodstuffs can cause pressure to the underside of the plate, as well as limiting the capacity of the bowl. This problem is solved by providing the underside of the plate with at least one protrusion 55 which extends downwardly into the bowl and is configured to re-distribute, comminuted foodstuffs piled up in the bowl. The plate 50 is a discoidal plate having a first major surface 51 which comminutes foodstuffs in a food processor bowl and a second major surface which comprises at least one protrusion to re-distribute comminuted foodstuffs. The discoidal plate can comminute foodstuffs using a raised hood 52 which is introduced into the bowl via a feed tube in a food processor. |
