An automatic document feeder (1) includes an original feed table (2) that has a detection hole (18; 28; 38; 48; 58; 68; 78; 88; 98; 108; 118; 128; 138; 148; 158; 168; 178; 188) and on which a bundle composed of a plurality of originals (P) is set; and an original detection sensor (6; 66) that detects the original (P) on the original feed table (2). The detection hole (18; 28; 38; 48; 58; 68; 78; 88; 98; 108; 118; 128; 138; 148; 158; 168; 178; 188) includes a light-emitting side portion (18a; 28a; 38a; 48a; 58a; 68a; 78a; 88a; 98a; 108a; 118a; 128a; 138a; 148a; 158a; 168a; 178a; 188a) corresponding to the light-emitting unit (6a; 66a) of and a light-receiving side portion (18b; 28b; 38b; 48b; 58b; 68b; 78b; 88b; 98b; 108b; 118b; 128b; 138b; 148b; 158b; 168b; 178b; 188b) corresponding to the light-receiving unit (6b; 66b) of the original detection sensor (6; 66), the light-emitting side portion (18a; 28a; 38a; 48a; 58a; 68a; 78a; 88a; 98a; 108a; 118a; 128a; 138a; 148a; 158a; 168a; 178a; 188a) and the light-receiving side portion (18b; 28b; 38b; 48b; 58b; 68b; 78b; 88b; 98b; 108b; 118b; 128b; 138b; 148b; 158b; 168b; 178b; 188b) having planar shapes different from each other. The original feed table (2) includes a light-shielding portion (5) that is provided above the light-receiving unit (6b; 66b) of the original detection sensor (6; 66), and has a slanted surface overhanging the light-receiving unit (6b; 66b). |
