PURPOSE: A zinc oxide with a tree structure and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to grow crystalline branches on a crystalline rod by forming branch seeds through a zinc salt-based precipitating process. CONSTITUTION: A zinc oxide with a tree structure includes a zinc oxide seed layer(120), crystalline rods(140), and crystalline branches(180). A method for forming the zinc oxide with the tree structure includes the following: The zinc oxide seed layer is formed on a substrate(100). The crystalline rods are formed on the zinc oxide seed layer. The crystalline branches are formed using zinc oxide branch seeds which are precipitated on the lateral side of the crystalline rods. A zinc oxide seed layer forming process includes the following: A first solution is formed by dissolving hydrate containing zinc salt in a solvent. The first solution is heated to be sol. A surfactant is introduced into the sol in order to form a second solution. The second solution is coated on the substrate and is heated to be gel.
