PURPOSE: A synchronization mark detection method and recording channel are provided to detect a synchronization mark through a limitation distance metric based on the location of the limitation distance metric. CONSTITUTION: A bit index(t) multiplies bit index range about a search window(510). A synchronization mark detector metric value is calculated(520). Mmin is set up as smaller one of Mmin and Mt in case the bit index is not the same as k1. The bit index corresponding to the new Mmin is recorded(530, 550). In case a pre-regulated threshold value satisfies a pre-regulated threshold value(T), the synchronization mark is detected at t(560,565). |
