PURPOSE: A failure detect method of an airplane engine and a detect device using the same are provided to accurately detect the failure of an airplane engine based on the boundary value by varying a failure detect boundary value according to the mission profile of an airplane. CONSTITUTION: A failure detect method of an airplane engine comprises the following steps. The mission profile of the airplane is discriminated. The failure detect boundary value is determined according to the mission profile(110,120). The failure of the airplane engine is determined based on the failure detect boundary value(130). The mission profile comprises one among gliding, take-off, cruise, descending and landing. The failure detect boundary value is based on a predetermined signal generated in the airplane engine.
