The module (27) has a hollow glass shell (16) comprising a translucent face (17) provided opposite to a main face (18). A lighting device is assembled inside the shell. An open case comprises a side wall and housing (26) at a side opposite to an opening, where the housing is accessible from outer side of the open case. The open case is provided inside the shell against the translucent face along a peripheral edge of the opening. Filling mass (25) surrounds the case, and includes polymerizable resin. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an external lighting module.
