The actuator has a frame (1) receiving an activating screw (6) in a sliding manner, and a nut (5) engaged on the activating screw. Mechanical stops limit translation of the activating screw in given direction. The stops comprise a set of elements (14a, 15a) fixed to an end of the activating screw. The stop comprise another set of elements (14b, 15b) fixed to an end corresponding to the nut. One of the elements comprises a damping unit to ensure progressive stopping of rotation of the nut.
