The method involves redirecting a beam toward a direction of radiation analysis along selected motorized base movements. A couple of measurements of deviation of the beam axis of the antenna with respect to the direction of radiation analysis are realized. A resolution of the system of vectorial equations is obtained to minimize two estimates of deviation of the axis of the beam based on variation. Resolution of the system of vectorial equations and the couple of measurement are iterated for couples of measurements, corresponding to pointing values. An independent claim is also included for a system for determination of error of a measurement of deviation of an axis of a beam of an electronic scanning antenna radar.
