Manufacturing flexible membrane keyboard that is useful for e.g. mobile phone, by providing keyboard equipped with close contact pad in back to back printed circuit board, and arranging insertion slot between right and left bonding pads

The method comprises providing a flexible membrane keyboard equipped with a close contact pad in a back to back printed circuit board including a right bonding pad (PR) and a left bonding pad (PV), arranging an insertion slot between the right bonding pad and the left bonding pad in the printed circuit board, and inserting a flexible conductive blade in the insertion slot, where the blade forms a closed electrical contact between the right bonding pad and the left bonding pad. The flexible blade comprises a support point (PA) to exert a breaking force of the closed electrical contact. The method comprises providing a flexible membrane keyboard equipped with a close contact pad in a back to back printed circuit board including a right bonding pad (PR) and a left bonding pad (PV), arranging an insertion slot between the right bonding pad and the left bonding pad in the printed circuit board, and inserting a flexible conductive blade in the insertion slot, where the blade forms a closed electrical contact between the right bonding pad and the left bonding pad. The flexible blade comprises a support point (PA) to exert a breaking force of the closed electrical contact, and flexible central tabs (LC), where the support point is electrically and mechanically connected to and placed adjacent to first (LL1) and second lateral tabs through a common point. The first and second lateral tabs are arranged in a same plane, and the central tab is offset in a position along a direction that is orthogonal to the plane for forming first and second spaces for the insertion of flexible blade. The insertion process includes inserting the flexible blade in the slot by clipping the first and second insertion spaces on opposite edges of the slot. The first and second lateral tabs are in electrical contact with the left bonding pad. The support point disposed on the central point is placed on the central tab to form a lever joint between a point of contact of the central tab on the right or left bonding pad and the common point. Independent claims are included for: (1) a flexible blade; (2) a close contact pad; and (3) a flexible membrane keyboard.
