The antenna has a set of transmission or reception modules assembled for defining a large transmission or reception area of the antenna. The modules are traversed in series through a coolant circulation duct, and heat sinks (36) i.e. fin heat sinks, are placed in the duct. Each heat sink is placed in the respective module, and the heat sinks have different heat transfer coefficients. Each module includes a support (16) traversed through the duct and electronic front and rear plates (22, 30) fixed on the support. An independent claim is also included for a method of cooling transmission /reception modules of modular electronic scanning antenna.
