The device has a support (25) that is in the form of a U-sectioned rail and receives a fixation tab (11) of an air filter (10). The support is integrated in a wire harness routing trough (20) fixed on a front side sill (1) of a motor vehicle. The support and the trough form a single piece, and are made from plastic material. The trough and the support are fixed with the side sill of the vehicle by a single fixation point (A). The support comprises a vertical branch (25C) connected to another vertical branch (25A) by a horizontal base (25B). An independent claim is also included for an air filter fixed on a front side sill of a motor vehicle by a support.
