<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character input support device and a character input support method for enabling an user to easily input appropriate honorific expressions while inputting characters to easily make sentences in an honorific tone. <P>SOLUTION: Characters which forms a predetermined sentence are inputted (S01); predicted candidates for the inputted characters are displayed (S02); after one predicted candidate is chosen, the chosen candidate is displayed (S04); whether the word of the chosen candidate is associated with a respecting person or a respected person is determined (S11); whether the agent of the sentence is a respecting person or a respected person, and whether the patient of the sentence is a respecting person or a respected person are determined based on the chosen candidate (S12); a honorific expression mode is determined based on the result of the determination for the agent and the patient (S13); predicted candidates which can be relevant to the chosen candidate are obtained (S06); the obtained relevant candidates are translated into honorific expression based on the honorific expression mode (S21); and the relevant candidates which are translated into honorific expression are displayed (S07). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
