<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small optical semiconductor device in which a plurality of optical components are arranged efficiently at a low cost, and to provide a method of manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The optical semiconductor device comprises a first optical component which detects light, a substrate containing at least any one of iron (Fe) and nickel (Ni), and a second optical component which contains a reflection surface provided on the surface of the substrate for changing the optical path to the direction of the first optical component.
