<p>Provided is a novel compound which can be formed into a thin layer and, despite this, has excellent hole-transporting properties. Also provided is a luminescent element, such as an organic EL element, that includes a hole-transporting layer comprising the compound. The compound is represented by formula (1) (wherein n1 is an integer of 1-4; n2 is an integer of 0-3; R1 to R3 are the same or different and each represents an alkoxy, a halogen atom, a hydrogen atom, or hydroxy; A represents a single bond or a divalent group; B represents an oxygen atom or a methylidene group substituted by at least one electron-attracting group; and D represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl, an alkoxy, cyano, or a halogen atom).</p> |
