PURPOSE: An overpressure preventive control system of a vehicle air compressor and a method thereof are provided to only driving an air compressor for a fixed time and automatically stop the compressor by secluding the power provided to the air compressor after the fixed time. CONSTITUTION: An overpressure preventive control system of a vehicle air compressor comprises an air compressor controller(10) and a pressure limit switch(20). The air compressor controller calculates the operation time of an air compressor(100) and controls the air compressor in order to drive for a fixed operation hour. The pressure limit switch comprises a pressure sensor and a switch. The pressure sensor measures the inner pressure of the air compressor. The switch controls the power provided to the air compressor. The pressure limit switch compares the measured pressure from the pressure sensor and a predetermined pressure and controls the operation of the air compressor through the switch.
