PURPOSE: A direct current power supply apparatus and method are provided to offer high efficiency through an entire load area by supplying an output voltage by recompensing the input voltage of a battery and coping with a load. CONSTITUTION: A battery(100) supplies direct current power. A converter(200) generates a compensation voltage. Input voltage of the battery is recompensed using the compensation voltage. An inverter(400) changes the input voltage and compensation voltage into motor driving voltage and supplies to a motor. The inverter changes kinetic energy of the motor into electrical energy. A switching unit(300) comprises a first switch(SW1) and a second switch(SW2). The first switch supplies input voltage to a load by being opened and closed according to a first switching signal. The second switch supplies the electrical energy to the battery by being opened and closed according to a second switching signal.
