<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine for granting a special prize state based on winning a normal symbol, which strikes a balance between an appropriate number of times of normal symbol variation in a normal condition, and a smooth progress of a game in the special prize condition. <P>SOLUTION: The normal condition has a probability of opening of a second normal symbol starting port 21B of 1/200, and even if a game ball is shot rightward, the game ball is prevented from entering the second normal symbol starting port 21B. When a game ball enters and wins a first normal symbol starting port 21A, the second normal symbol starting port 21B is opened, and normal symbols are readily varied. Thus, the game ball also enters a special symbol starting port 22, prize balls are paid out, a special symbol wins at a high probability, and a winning probability of the normal symbol is increased at a rate of 95%.
