摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel plate thickness measuring instrument which is capable of achieving both the increase in speed of calibration processing and the improvement in precision of plate thickness measurement while employing a multi-channel thickness gauge, and a calibration method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: A single-channel thickness gauge 1 for scanning a detector 4 in a direction orthogonal to a passing direction of a passing steel plate S to measure a thickness of the steel plate S along a breadthwise direction and a multi-channel thickness gauge 2 for measuring the thickness along the breadthwise direction of the passing steel plate S simultaneously by a plurality of detectors 6 arranged along the breadthwise direction of the steel plate S and measuring the thickness along a lengthwise direction of the passing plate S at prescribed intervals to measure a thickness distribution of the entire steel plate are provided together. A calibration curve of the detector 4 of the single-channel thickness gauge 1 is calibrated by a thickness of a reference plate for calibration preliminarily measured before passage of the steel plate S, and calibration curves of respective detectors 6 of the multi-channel thickness gauge 2 are calibrated by thickness measurement values of the steel plate in the breadthwise direction of the steel plate, which are obtained by the single-channel thickness gauge 1 during passage of the steel plate S. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
