<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight module and a liquid crystal display capable of controlling generation of dark spots in a corner portion where a lamp unit of a light guide panel is arranged, and also making an effective display area larger. <P>SOLUTION: The backlight module Bm includes: the lamp unit 2 arranged along a light incident surface formed on a side face of the light guide plate 3; a light-diffusing member 5 to diffuse the light emitted from a light-emitting surface of the light guide plate 3; and protrusions 511, 521, 531 where the light-diffusing member 5 covers corner portions on a light incident surface side of the light-emitting surface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
