<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively detect the movement of passengers and a string-like foreign object in an elevator doorway to enhance the security, reduce an accident around a door not to disturb the service efficiency, and facilitate the maintenance and inspection. <P>SOLUTION: A safety elevator, with an imaging device 5 installed in the elevator doorway to monitor the opening and closing of the elevator door, includes: a door control device 3 that controls the opening and closing of the elevator door; and an image processing part 6 that detects a detection object within a detection area determined from an image signal of the imaging device 5, wherein the size of the detection area is changed along with the opening and closing of the elevator door. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
