<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a twisted nematic liquid crystal panel with high brightness and high contrast, and a liquid display device thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal panel includes a liquid crystal cell 10 having a liquid crystal layer 13 containing liquid crystal molecules oriented in a twist alignment in a state where no electric field exists between two substrates 11 and 12 whose orientation directions are orthogonal to each other, a first polarizing plate 21 arranged on one principal plane of the liquid crystal cell 10, and a second polarizing plate 22 and a third polarizing plate 23 which are arranged on the other principal plane of the liquid crystal cell 10 from the liquid crystal cell side. The first polarizing plate 21 and the second polarizing plate 22 are absorption type polarizing plates, and the third polarizing plate 23 is a reflection type polarizing plate. The difference T<SB POS="POST">1</SB>-T<SB POS="POST">2</SB>between a transmissivity T<SB POS="POST">2</SB>of the second polarizing plate and a transmissivity T<SB POS="POST">1</SB>of the first polarizing plate is 0.1 to 5%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
