<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a brush bristle made of paper, and a brush bristle made of paper which is formed by applying an adhesive and/or abrasive grains to a paper sheet, then rounding the paper sheet or twisting the paper sheet after rounding it, and covering the periphery of the twisted brush bristle made of paper. <P>SOLUTION: The adhesive is applied to the paper sheet, and then the paper sheet is rolled to form a rod body. The periphery of the rod body is surrounded by a covering. The rod body is at least one, and the covering can be constituted of at least one layer. The method for manufacturing the brush bristle made of paper includes sprinkling powdery or granular abrasive grains on fibers of the paper sheet and then embedded between the paper fibers.
