Disclosed is a method for producing a copolymer of a diallylamine and sulfur dioxide, which is water-soluble and has a higher molecular weight than that obtained by a conventional production method, comprising copolymerizing a diallylamine and sulfur dioxide in a polar solvent in the presence of an acid and a radical polymerization initiator.
