METHOD FOR LANDING ARMOURED VEHICLES IN A COMBAT ZONE THAT PROVIDES FOR SELF-DEFENCE AND SAFE NAVIGATION

The invention relates to the field of delivering armoured vehicles to combat zones using amphibious assault ships. The method for landing armoured vehicles in such zones consists in loading armoured vehicles onto an amphibious assault ship, delivering the vehicles via the ship to a coastal region of a combat zone, unloading the vehicles from the ship and delivering them to the scene of fighting. Each armoured vehicle is provided with a flotation device, which renders tanks seaworthy and enhances the seaworthiness of amphibious armoured vehicles. The armoured vehicles are loaded from the water onto the amphibious assault ship and unloaded from the ship directly onto the water by the independent movement of the vehicles along the loading ramp(s) of the amphibious assault ship. The armoured vehicles equipped with flotation devices are delivered from the ship to the scene of fighting by means of independent movement over the water so that they are capable of self-defence against air threats and surface vessels. The invention provides for: the possibility of crossing independently to the scene of fighting with the assurance of safe navigation under any sea conditions; reliable self-defence; an uninterrupted exit from the water onto the shore; the possibility of accommodating large numbers of armoured vehicles on a ship; increased functional capabilities; enhanced protection of the amphibious assault ship; and the possibility of conducting different types of combat operations.
