<p>A method and User Equipment (UE) for determining Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) symbol duration are disclosed. The method includes the following steps: obtaining the relationship between Physical Hybrid ARQ Indicator Channel (PHICH) symbol duration and the PDCCH symbol duration (101); obtaining the PHICH symbol duration (102); determining the PDCCH symbol duration according to said relationship and said PHICH symbol duration (103). The present invention determines the PDCCH symbol duration based on the relationship between the PHICH symbol duration and the PDCCH symbol duration.</p>
