<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an electrophoretic display medium, in which an adhesive layer can be formed only on the upper face of a structure selectively and efficiently, the compatibility and mixture between electrophoretic ink and an adhesive can be suppressed, and damage to the electrophoretic ink can be suppressed when a display medium is manufactured. <P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the electrophoretic display medium includes; a step of forming a plurality of cells each comprising an insulating structure on a first electrode substrate; a step of transferring the adhesive layer to the front face of the structure by heating a film base material having a thermoplastic adhesive layer formed on the surface while being brought in contact with the upper face of the structure and peeling off the thermoplastic adhesive layer while being softened; a step of filling the electrophoretic ink into the cells; and a step of adhering the upper face of the structure and a second electrode substrate while heating the film base material at a temperature which is lower than that in an adhesive layer transfer step. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
