<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain adverse effects of polarized wave variations in a resonator on accuracy in the measurement of rotating speed. <P>SOLUTION: A resonator 11 provided in an R-FOG 1 comprises: an PMF 12 as a loop-shaped waveguide that causes a light wave from a fiber laser FL to propagate in clockwise (CW) and counter clockwise (CCW) directions. The PMF 12 is provided with an even number of spliced parts 13 and 14 inside of the PMF, the parts that turn the axis of polarization by 90°. The rotating speed of the object of measurement is measured with an output from the resonator 11. As control means to perform feedback control for restraining polarized wave variations in the resonator 11, a signal input unit 21, an FPGA 22 and a signal output unit 23 are provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
