Disclosed is a real-time markerless three-dimensional object tracking system for augmented reality and a method thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the real-time markerless three-dimensional object tracking system for augmented reality comprises: a feature point extracting unit which extracts a feature point from an object image; a matching unit which matches the extracted feature point to a feature point of a reference image corresponding to preset three-dimensional position information; a rotation and movement information tracking unit which tracks rotation and movement information on the basis of a result of the matching by the matching unit.
