The present invention relates to a closure system for use in surgical procedures. The closure system comprises a closure device (100) including a foot (102), at least one suture (104) having a distal end and a proximal end, at least one bolster (106) attached to the proximal end and a needle (108) attached to the distal end. The needle (108) is configured to be anchored on an underside portion of the foot (102) such that a tensile force is applied to the suture (104) and such that the suture secures the foot into position.
