The invention provides for a locking device (10) for an inlet of a container (24), wherein the inlet is a hatch (14) and includes an aperture defined by the container (24) and a cover (18), said locking device (10) including, a first member (20) being releasably attachable to the cover (18) of the hatch (14); a second member (22) being releasably attachable to the first member (20) and shaped and dimensioned to releasably engage at least a part of the container (24) and/or the hatch (14) thereby facilitating the attachment of the locking device (10) to the container(24); an attachment means (26) for releasably attaching the first member (20) to the second member(22); securing means (28) for securing the first member (20) relative the second member(22), and wherein the first member (20) and the second member(22), when engaging the hatch (14) and container(24), assist in deterring the displacement of the cover (18) relative the aperture thereby assisting in minimizing the unauthorised entry of the container (24). The invention also provides for a locking device (60) for the outlet (62) of the container (24), wherein the outlet (62) includes an aperture defined by the container (24), a cover (64) and an opening mechanism (66) for opening and closing the cover (64), said locking device (60) including, an abutment means (68) abutting at least a part of the container (24) and/or the opening mechanism (66) when in a locked position; a brace (70) that is shaped and dimensioned to engage at least a part of the opening mechanism (66) of the outlet (62) of the container (24); a securing means (72), securing the brace (70) relative the container (24); and wherein the brace (70) and the abutment means (68), when engaging the opening mechanism (66) of the container (24), assist in deterring the unauthorised opening of the outlet (62) of the container (24). |
